Evangelist Angel Gaines

Evangelist Gaines"It's the Lord's doing and it's marvelous in my eyes." This is one of Lady Gaines's favorite sayings, because truly God has done marvelous things in her life, even up to this moment. Angel was baptized at the age of five and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of ten. 

Lady Gaines is the wife of Elder Timothy Lee Gaines, Pastor of the Garden of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ. The mother of three children: Timea Angelese, Timothy Jr., and Tabitha Denise. She is the eldest daughter of the Bishop Walter & Mother Dorothy Thompson, Jr., the late Bishop Walter Thompson was the Pastor of Bethany Way of the Cross Church of Christ International.

Lady Gaines received her Associates Degree from Prince Georges Community College (PGCC). While at PGCC, she organized and founded their first Gospel Choir (she was also the President). The choir performed before many churches and distinguished audiences throughout the Washington Metropolitan area, including the Kennedy Center and the Warner Theater. Angel's persistency has found her in later years pursuing her heart's desire to be a Registered Nurse. Lady Gaines has completed her continued education at PGCC and is now a Board Certified Registered Nurse. Angel also received her BSN degree in nursing.

Lady Gaines worked as a Respiratory Therapist at the Doctor's Community Hospital, Nurse's assistant at Andrew's Air Force Base and was also previously employed by Dr. Susan Otero, Chief of Plastic Surgery for Washington Hospital Center. Angel is currently employed by the Washington Hospital Center in the Cardiology Department as a registered nurse.

Lady Gaines's spiritual endeavors have been many. She is a licensed Evangelist Missionary, President of the C. H. Mason Memorial District Minister's Wives, and President of the nurses unit of the Greater Maryland 1st Jurisdiction. Locally she's President of the YWCC (Young Women's Christian Council), President of the Usher Board, Sunday School teacher, Bible Band teacher and Vice-President of the Choir. Lady Gaines is an organizer of women's retreats and is a seminar leader/teacher. She has taught the following seminars: Soul Outreach Ministries, Soul Witnessing, and a seminar for the District Minister's Wives and Missionaries.

Lady Gaines has received many certificates and recognition such as: Witnessing Workshop Leader, BWOTCC Sister Retreat/Seminar Speaker, Bishop D.W. Spann Outstanding State Worker Award, Miss Youth for Christ, 1st Runner Up-Mother Church, Certificate of Support to Combined Federal Campaign (Peace Corps), CPA-Nursing Assistant, CPR Certification, Advanced First Aide Certification and Health Awareness Award (PGCC).

Lady Gaines (along with Precious Holmes) cut their first album "On the Wings of Faith" the summer of 1991 with Milt Matthews as their production manager.
